Birdwatching Mindo, About the Guide

Irman Arias Murcia

My name is Irman Arias Murcia; I am native to Mindo and speak Spanish and English.

Since my childhood I have participated in environmental conservation programs, and for the last ten years I have worked as a naturalist guide, specializing in bird watching.

I am able to perfectly identify the songs and sounds of every bird in the region and know their English names.

With the knowledge passed to me from my ancestors and my experiences as a native guide of Mindo I have expanded to other regions of the country promoting bird watching as an alternative way to help in forest conservation.
